Furthermore, Danfoss has joined several national and international initiatives which promote sustainable development, social responsibility and climate improvements. The obligations also include the United Nations Global Compact’s ten principles, which form the basis of Danfoss’ promotion of human rights, labour rights, anti-corruption and the environment. In 2008, Danfoss published the Ethics Handbook which was distributed to every Danfoss employee. The Ethics Handbook sets guidelines for all of the employees to comply with and it is divided into three main sections: conditions relating to the employees, customers/suppliers and the community. In addition to including the ten principles of Global Compact, the Ethics Handbook also covers the areas which have been ”unwritten rules” and which have existed implicitly in the Danfoss culture.
